A fun, antique Philadelphia souvenir sewing thread case from the Victorian Era! The Mauchline Ware thread box features advertising on the lid interior.. The Philadelphia Centennial Exhibition image is nicely detailed. The interior has spool holders that thread through the box to the exterior. Genius for keeping them from tangling. The box measures 4 inches by 2 7/8 inches x 2inches tall. In good antique condition.

Mauchline Ware was produced in Scotland using sycamore wood with highly detailed transfers. The company produced the wares from 1850 until 1933. Wonderful souvenir of Philadelphia.
