Vintage New Hampshire English Staffordshire Souvenir Plate
A lovely vintage New Hampshire souvenir plate, blue and white ceramic china plate. The English Staffordshire plate features the Cog Railway which is located on Mt. Washington (the highest peak in the United States) in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The foreground features the granite that the "Granite State" is known for; and the White Mountains are featured in the background. A lovely floral pattern circles the rim and the edge of the plate has nice decoration.
The reverse is marked, "DISTRIBUTED THRU THE HERITAGE TRAIL FOUNDATION BOSTON BY JONES MC DUFFEE & STRATTON INC.", and is marked Wood & Sons England. This souvenir plate dates 1950s or earlier as the company, which imported souvenir china for 75 years, changed focus in the 1950s and ceased importing commemorative plates at that time.
The plate measures 10" in diameter. It is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks or scratches and some crazing. The graphics are nicely detailed and still nice and bright.
