A rare, single bookend, The Woodsman, a depiction of early Abraham Lincoln. The bronzed book end was made by Jennings Brothers Mfg. Company and is marked JB 1701. A wonderful piece with fantastic details. The figurine represents pre-presidential Abe and is is mounted to its base at the feet and by the axe. Given these pressure points, it's rare to find a bookend that isn't damaged at the base. A large, heavy, bronzed metal, the bookend can be used as a single or as a figurine. The piece measures approximately 8 1/4" tall x 4 1/4" wide x 3" deep. In very good condition with a bit of play at the base points, no damage, felted bottom.
Quite the addition to the library or the Lincoln collection!
