Offered is an antique hardcover book, An Inland Voyage, by Robert Louis Stevenson. Published by Charles Scribner's Sons, New York; 1902. The book is in very good vintage condition. The green and beige linen cover with gilt lettering shows surface/edge wear on the rear cover. Interior pages are clean; 238 pages. The book measures approximately 7" x 4.5".
First printed in 1878, this book is a travelogue recounting Stevenson’s 1876 canoe trip (in “Rob Roy” style canoes) with friend Sir Walter Grindlay Simpson through the canals and rivers of Belgium and France (from Antwerp along the Oise River, etc.). It’s considered a pioneering work of outdoor/leisure travel literature.
