Antique Quincy Massachusetts Granite Samples

A rare collection of Quincy Massachusetts quarry samples. There are five circles of various colors and patterns of granite. One sample is labeled, "Geo. H. Hitchcock & Co.". Quincy granite was used in many famous buildings and monuments. More recently the quarries have been filled with dirt dug out to create "the Big Dig". The samples measure approximately 3" in diameter and 3/8" deep; several samples have edge chipping.
