Offered is an antique wood tobacco box. The long, narrow wooden box is circa 1920s and originally held Neptune Tobacco Plugs. The dovetailed box measures approximately 13" x 4 1/8" x 3 3/8" with a partial tax stamp still attached. In good vintage condition with aged patina.
On one long side, the box says, "Neptune Tobacco" and on the other, "This Box contains 5 plugs, 5 20￠ cuts each."; one short side: " Neptune Bright, 3x12-5 space, 5 plugs, 5 20 ¢ cuts. The bottom is barely legible; and contains info on the P. Lorillard Company successors to Buchanan & Lyall of Brooklyn, NY.
