Midcentury Wood Pig

A fantastic midcentury pig. The wood pig comes apart at the nose to reveal 6 wooden disks. I'm unsure what the purpose was, but it sure looks cool. Circa 1950s-1960s, the wood pig is labeled made in Japan. The wooden figurine has nice grain to the wood, is in very good vintage condition; and measures approximately 4 1/2" long x 3" wide x 3 1/4" tall.
