Offered is a rare, small antique Mt. Wachusett, Massachusetts mauchline ware souvenir. It was a pin cushion, a common sewing notion souvenir; however has lost all of its fill through the century. Nice old graphic of the Summit House, which burned down in 1970. If you grew up in New England, the jingle for Mt. Wachusett is stuck in your head!
The small wood souvenir measures approximately 1 3/8" plus brown fabric. In vintage condition as the pin cushion is gone, but the wood core is in very good condition and a great New England collectible.
From my blog:
Mauchline ware is a type of decorative woodenware that was produced in the Scottish town of Mauchline during the 19th and early 20th centuries. It was made from a variety of woods, including sycamore, beech, and yew, and was typically decorated with transfer-printed designs.
