This a vintage wood shoe last; found in New England, home to many shoe manufacturers through the midcentury. The mold is has several markings including Wester Last Co, St. Louis,5-54, Mary, 8B . There is metal on the top with a hole for the manufacturing process. The form measures approximately 9 1/2" long by 3 1/4" wide.
This is a wonderful piece of home decor or for the collector. Great patina and a nice design.
